  22. 386MAX that came with MS C 7.0) to see what it had to say about my serial
  23. ports and IRQs, and buried in the output I found:

  27. I had a snapshot of the same diagnostic from 4/95 showing the correct
  28. speed of 25MHZ, so something has indeed failed. The system doesn't run
  29. any slower than it used to in general, and the DOS time-of-day is
  30. updating normally, but some timing or interrupt circuit must have gone
  31. south.

  39. Nope. I said I'm not using a PM setup, but vanilla MSDOS. I still like the
  40. hypothesis that Kermit is stumbling over broken hardware that older and
  41. less clever software is simply ignoring.
